We told you so. The ink on the bill to ban TikTok in America isn’t even dried yet. The bill passed in the House last week and will soon be taken up by the Senate. And Democrats are already calling on Joe Biden to use the newfound powers that the bill gives him to ban Twitter/X before the 2024 election.
House Democrats are accusing Elon Musk of colluding with Islamic terrorist groups, of all things, and are demanding that Joe Biden shut down Twitter to stop foreign influence in America.
At least, that’s their excuse. The real reason is that Twitter… Sorry, I just refuse to refer to a company as a letter of the alphabet. Couldn’t Elon have used two letters to give it an actual name or something? Like AX?
Anyway, the real reason why the Democrats want to shut down Twitter is because it allows many conservatives to have their free speech rights back on the internet. Democrats don’t want their lies to be unchallenged, so Twitter is an existential threat to them as a political party.
Reps. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) and impeachment hoaxer Jamie Raskin (D-MD) claim that Elon Musk has allowed senior leaders of Hezbollah, Iranian news outlets, and Russian state media to pay $8 a month to subscribe to Twitter.
In a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), Raskin and Goldman wrote, “If true, this raises significant concerns that X may be violating U.S. sanctions law by facilitating financial transactions from terrorist organizations and other entities sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury.”
For $8 a month. As if Elon Musk sits there and vets every single person who signs up for a Twitter account to make sure they’re not on the naughty list. Good grief. The same government that won’t use any resources to vet the millions of illegal aliens, gang members, human traffickers, terrorists, child rapists, and foreign commandos streaming across our southern border wants Elon Musk to vet Twitter subscribers.
They want Comer to hold hearings into whether Musk is providing “perks” to sanctioned individuals. Just as a reminder, if you pay Twitter $8 a month, you get a blue check mark next to your name. That’s the perk. By the way, when Musk found out that some of the senior leadership of Hezbollah was on the platform, he revoked their blue check marks and kicked them off. Problem solved.
Raskin and Goldman also want to investigate whether any of the sanctioned individuals are making “advertising revenue” from their Twitter accounts. Elon could be helping terrorists earn money! Oh no!
This is such a joke. Here’s how profitable Twitter’s advertising revenue is. Remember Andrew Yang? He ran for president as a Democrat in 2020. He wanted everyone to live in a pod and eat bugs (which turned out to be Joe Biden’s campaign slogan as well). Andrew Yang has 1.7 million Twitter subscribers on his channel. He just made $28 in advertising revenue from Twitter in February.
I’m no expert on Hezbollah, but I’m guessing their senior leadership doesn’t have enough followers to be raking in a whopping $28 in advertising revenue every month. If they’re lucky, they might be breaking even on their $8 subscription fee. Except Elon kicked them off.
What the Democrats are really doing is setting the stage for Joe Biden to ban Twitter as a “foreign influence operation” as soon as the TikTok ban bill passes the Senate and hits his desk. That’s what this bill was about all along. The legislation doesn’t even say “TikTok” anywhere in it. The bill gives Joe Biden unilateral power to shut down any app or website that the Democrats don’t like.
RINOs who voted for the bill are now claiming it doesn’t allow Biden to ban websites. We’re all just mistaken if we oppose this bill.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t even need to know what’s in a bill if Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) supports it and it is opposed by President Trump, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Clay Higgins, Andy Biggs, David Schweikert, and Rand Paul. Republicans had better brace themselves for this one. If the bill to “ban TikTok” passes in the US Senate, Joe Biden is going to shut Twitter down before the election.
