Behind the Scenes: Democrat Party in Total Panic over 2020

Behind the Scenes: Democrat Party in Total Panic over 2020

Most of the cable news chatterboxes are sticking to the narrative in early 2020: Donald Trump is doomed next November, if only the Democrat voters can finally decide which one of the dapper, courageous and really smart primary candidates to vote for.

But every once in a while, that mask slips and a talking head lets us know that behind the scenes, the movers and shakers in the Democrat Party are in a total state of panic. Despite having one of the largest gaggles of candidates in history, every single one of them is incredibly weak.

Joe Scarborough of MSNBC really let the cat out of the bag last week. Just before the Democrat debates, he told a panel of really smart election pundits that he’s getting a constant stream of phone calls and texts from prominent Democrat voters and donors.

Scarborough declared, “There is just this fear that among the current crop of candidates, there’s a fear that there may not be the ability to take down Donald Trump.”

He went on to talk about how paralyzed with fear Democrat primary voters are, noting that they don’t want to make the “wrong” choice in voting for a candidate who can’t beat Trump. (Spoiler Alert, Joe: There is no correct answer on the ballot for Democrat primary voters!)

The turnout numbers are telling the tale, even if most of the cable news anchors aren’t ready to admit the truth yet. Trump doesn’t have any real primary competition at all, despite a couple of no-names actually running against him (one already dropped out). And yet Republican primary turnout numbers have dwarfed the Democrats in Iowa and New Hampshire.

The rallies tell the tale as well. When Trump rolls into town, he sells out the venue – regardless of what town and what venue. Some 11,000 people made it into the event center in New Hampshire for his latest rally there – and more than twice that number waited outside for the chance to watch it on a big screen in the freezing cold.

The mood is festive and jubilant. Everyone in attendance is optimistic and filled with excitement to have a president who actually cares about the American people deeply – and is working for them instead of for the establishment.

The most narrative-shattering pro-Trump rally of all had to be the “Trannies for Trump” rally in San Francisco in early February. If you want to gauge how the mood of the people really compares to what the media is telling you, that rally says a lot!

As one Twitter observer noted, in perhaps the most inappropriate comment ever, “Even our trannies are better looking than the Democrats’.”

And a writer named Karlyn Borysenko published a remarkable piece last week that you should seek out and read, if you’re interested. She’s a very liberal, non-binary writer that I normally wouldn’t bother reading, but her piece titled, “After Attending a Trump Rally, I Realized Democrats Are Not Ready for 2020” is pretty good.

Borysenko is a liberal Democrat who is really, really into knitting. A few months ago, pro-Trump knitters were getting banned from online knitting forums by woke social justice knitters. Yeah, apparently this is a real thing that happened.

Ms. Borysenko was shocked by the venomous hatred that her fellow Democrats were directing toward the pro-Trump knitters. She figured the pro-Trump knitters couldn’t be that bad, right? The really bad pro-Trump knitters were probably out there in icky flyover country.

Anyway, Borysenko made up her mind to attend the Trump rally in New Hampshire. It took her a while to steel her nerves and gird her loins for this, especially when all of her liberal friends started warning her not to go. As a non-binary liberal Democrat, surely, she would be lynched by the deplorable, Hitler loving, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, phobiaphobic, racist white haters in MAGA hats.

The opposite happened. She waited in line for hours and discovered that Trump supporters are everyday Americans. It was like a rock concert. Everyone was happy. She went to see every Democrat who campaigned in New Hampshire as well, and described every rally as tepid, unexciting, and filled with doom and gloom.

When she timidly told Trump rally attendees that she was a Democrat, they all said, “Good for you! Welcome!”

She was surprised to learn that her favorite personalities on CNN and MSNBC have been lying to her about the kind of people that support Trump. They’re just everyday, patriotic Americans who love their country and happen to disagree with her politically on some issues.

Ms. Borysenko ends the piece on an encouraging note by saying she hopes that more of her fellow Democrats will start to reach out in understanding to Trump supporters, because they’re not actually bigoted, hateful racists who want to lynch everyone.

She closes out the piece by saying that despite the fun and eye-opening experience it was to attend a Trump rally, she still has no intention of voting for him in November.

Sure you won’t, Karyn. (Wink, wink.)

P.S. We won’t tell anyone. It can be our little secret.
