The ‘Gun Control' Crowd's Would-Be Assassin Was Literally Telling People to Buy Guns — You Cannot Parody These People

Cole Tomas Allen — the man who opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday night in what authorities are calling an assassination attempt against President Trump — spent months on Bluesky telling trans people they needed to arm themselves. His exact words, posted alongside a CNN article about potential DOJ restrictions on transgender gun ownership: “Best time to buy a gun was [your state’s waiting period] days ago. Second best time is today.”

So the guy from the party that wants to confiscate YOUR AR-15 was running a one-man firearms recruitment drive for his own people. Unbelievable.

We need to talk about this, because the hypocrisy here is so thick you could spread it on toast. Democrats have spent the last decade lecturing us — LECTURING us — about how guns are the root of all evil. Every time there’s a tragedy, they sprint to the nearest microphone to demand we surrender our Second Amendment rights. Kamala Harris wanted mandatory buybacks. Beto O’Rourke said “hell yes, we’re coming for your AR-15.” Every Democrat in Congress has voted for or co-sponsored some version of a gun grab.

And their guy was out there doing gun marketing on social media.

Allen wasn’t some random lunatic who stumbled into radicalism. He was a Caltech-educated mechanical engineer — bachelor’s degree, class of 2017 — who participated in the university’s Christian Fellowship Program before apparently deciding that Christianity was too passive for his tastes. Minutes before the shooting, he sent a manifesto to a family member that mocked the Christian concept of “turning the other cheek.” He argued that staying passive while others face “oppression” makes you complicit in that oppression.

Translation: he talked himself into believing that political violence was a moral obligation. Where have we heard THAT before?

Oh right — from every unhinged left-wing activist who’s spent the last ten years calling President Trump “literally Hitler” and then acting shocked when someone takes them seriously. You don’t get to compare a democratically elected president to a genocidal dictator every single day for a decade and then clutch your pearls when one of your followers picks up a rifle. That’s not how this works.

This is now the THIRD attempted assassination against President Trump. Third. And every single time, the shooter has been marinating in left-wing ideology. But sure, tell us more about how conservative rhetoric is “dangerous.” Tell us more about how WE need to “tone it down.”

The Bluesky post is the part that should make your head explode. Allen shared that CNN article specifically because it discussed potential DOJ proposals to restrict transgender gun purchases — and his response wasn’t “good, fewer guns on the streets.” His response was: buy them NOW before the government stops you.

That is the exact argument the NRA makes. That is the exact argument every Second Amendment advocate in America makes. “Buy now before they ban them.” And this guy — an avowed leftist, an anti-Trump radical — was making it to his own community while his political allies were simultaneously trying to disarm the rest of us.

Rules for thee, guns for me.

The media is going to do what the media always does. They’ll spend 48 hours on the “how did this happen” hand-wringing, then pivot to a panel discussion about whether Trump’s “rhetoric” is partly to blame for someone trying to murder him. (Yes, they will actually do this. They did it after the first two attempts and they’ll do it again.)

What they WON’T do is connect the dots between years of deranged left-wing hysteria and the people who keep showing up with weapons at events where the President is present. They won’t ask whether calling someone a fascist dictator for ten straight years might radicalize unstable people. They won’t examine how Bluesky and other left-wing social media echo chambers have become breeding grounds for this kind of extremism.

Because that would require them to look in the mirror. And we all know how allergic these people are to accountability.

Here’s the bottom line: Cole Tomas Allen wasn’t a gun rights advocate. He was a political radical who recognized that firearms are useful when you want to commit political violence. He just didn’t want YOU to have them. The “ban all guns” crowd doesn’t actually want to ban all guns — they want to ban YOUR guns. Their guns are fine. Their guns serve “justice.” Your guns are a “threat to democracy.”

Remember that the next time some Democrat gets on television and cries about the Second Amendment. Their movement’s latest poster child was literally telling people to stock up on firearms while they voted to take yours away.

We’re praying for everyone affected by Friday night’s attack. And we’re grateful — again — that President Trump is safe. But we’re done pretending this is a “both sides” problem. It’s not. It never was.
